Vision: I think the vision is clear on this one, it is a rather simple concept that shows a lonely planet with a very distant ambient light source.
Originality: This piece in particular gets a few extra bonus originality points because it is much less done than other space pieces. The rings give it a nice touch.
Technique: The planet and planet details look fantastic, and the rings were really well done as well! The nebula in the background has a couple problems with fluidity though. There is a cut-off that is in the upper right side of the image that detracts from the overall flow. I really love the subtle wisps of color right behind and above the planet, those are fantastic looking, but the bottom left side could use a little refinement, especially since I feel it looks a little too artificial and detracts a little bit from some of the other great subtleties of this piece.
Impact: Overall, when I look at this image, I see a lonely planet with some very nice points of interest, so I think the impact is definitely there. Just clean up the nebula a little bit and maybe vary the actual "color" of space/stars to add a little bit more loneliness.
Overall Deviousness: Killer job on this one! It has a couple flaws, but hey, the 'meat and potatoes' of this image look fantastic! Keep up the strong work
the only problem i see in this is the shadow on the ring, i dont know why but it just looks unnnatiral. perhaps of therew was harder light on one side of the planet then it would be more vidible but so far i think with the current lighting the shadow would be more faint (you also seem to have light coming from below the planet seemingly.
This image is great man. The color scheme is brilliant nd the rings work beautifully with the scheme. The wispyness of the nebulae in the background give a very calm feel to it.
